In the world of psychotherapy, ethics and safety are not just regulatory requirements; they are the core of the therapist-client relationship. Establishing and maintaining high standards of ethical behavior and safety measures during sessions is essential to creating a safe and confidential environment in which clients can openly explore and resolve their issues. This trust is the foundation of the therapeutic relationship and enables deeper understanding, empathy and effective change. Ethics and safety are therefore not only a professional obligation, but also a moral imperative that protects both the therapist and the client, and ensures the integrity of the therapeutic process.
Ethics and safety during sessions
- Any kind of violence, whether towards yourself or others, is not allowed during the sessions.
- In the case of live therapy; respect for space and property is mandatory; it is not allowed to damage the premises, objects or furniture.
- Attending the session under the influence of alcohol is strictly prohibited. This rule is not set to limit your freedom, but to ensure the safety and efficiency of the therapeutic process. Alcohol can significantly affect the ability to communicate and self-reflect, which are fundamental aspects of therapy. To ensure that the sessions are productive and provide you with the best possible support, it is important that you are present, aware and able to think clearly during the session. I understand that facing personal challenges can seem daunting at times, and that’s why I’m here to support you in a safe and open environment. If you ever feel overwhelmed or unsure, I encourage you to talk about it openly during the session.
